Amazing Grass, Heal My Nose!

Hey guys,

I'm still feeling better--having the nasal packing out makes a huge difference. I can actually breathe again! I'm definitely sporting some pretty dramatic black eyes, though. I can't wait for the splint to come off on Monday! I'm totally going to go places then. I don't really care if people stare at my eyes or swollen nose. It doesn't matter to me. I don't really want to go many places now because of the splint. The bandaging around it is a little worse for wear... you know, dried blood, that stuff. And the tape hanging from my nose to keep the tip in place is a little icky.

But I think my mom and I are going to go on a walk today just around the neighborhood! I'm excited to get out of the house! I'll wear a hat, and hopefully there won't be to many people. But if there are, whatever. I know they're just staring cause I look smokin' hot ;)

I got my package from Amazing Grass yesterday! I asked them if I could review some samples because of this surgery, and they agreed. I got sent 8 drink mixes, 6 bars, and a shaker cup :D

I decided to try the chocolate green superfood powder yesterday. Here's some info from their site:

"A full spectrum of alkalizing green superfoods, antioxidant rich fruits, and support herbs unite with organic Acai, Maca and Cacao to provide a powerful dose of whole food nutrition with a delicious dark chocolate taste. Mixes easily and tastes great in water or your favorite milk beverage. Complete with pre & probiotics and digestive enzymes to ensure rapid nutrient absorption and healthy digestion."

I mixed the packet with unsweetened almond breeze. I followed their tip on dissolving the powder in 1 oz. water before adding the milk.

It was pretty good! I liked the chocolate flavor--there was a nice cacao hint that carried through. It was "healthy tasting," but not in a bad way. It wasn't bitter, but it definitely wasn't sweet. I considered adding a drop of stevia for a moment, but then decided that it didn't need it. The powder dissolved well, and I wasn't left with any additional "gunk" at the bottom of the glass.

I really liked this flavor, and I felt good while drinking it :D I'm curious to see how the chocolate flavor compares to the originals.

I'm hoping these Amazing Grass products will help my nose (and my black eyes) heal quickly!
Have you ever tried Amazing Grass? What did you think?

Breakfast last night was good, but I sure am getting tired of pb/banana/soft mushy foods (GASP, I know!) I'm just craving my big salads! My mom says today I might be able to have a small salad though, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Arnold's thin with 1/2 white chocolate wonderful pb, 1/2 dark chocolate dreams, and a sliced banana. I had the rest of the banana on the sliced with smeared pb.

Breakfast this morning... well, I didn't really want anything. But I made some simple pumpkin chocolate oats with Naturally Nutty honey roasted cinnamon peanut butter. Then I started taking pics of the bowl, and had a feeling something was missing. So I grabbed some pretzels, and put some broken up pretzels in the bowl.

It was a cool, kinda different combo--salty/sweet with a little crunch. I liked it. My mom thought the combo was a little weird, but I didn't. I mean, chocolate and peanut butter go with pretzels. And the only other things are pumpkin and oats, which I don't think are too weird.

Q: What toppings have you put on oats that other people would think are "weird or different?"

I guess pretzels would be one of them for me? I've had chocolate-covered goji berries on them, which were yummy! I've put canned pureed butternut squash in oats before, too--you can't really taste it, it just makes the oats creamier. What about you?

I hope you enjoy this lovely Saturday! Hopefully I'll be able to take a walk and enjoy some of the nice weather :)

Glad your recovery is still progressing!!

That Arnold's Thin pb banana creation looks and sounds seriously amazing! And adding pretzels to chocolatey-pb oats is genius!

Probably my "craziest" oatmeal add-in is putting cereal on top, I bet some people think that's weird.

glad you are feeling better today! enjoy your walk, and yeah...let people stare. Only jealous of your hotness! :D

Pretzels sound great in oats- everytime I eat pumpkin oats I crave salt for some reason so can see that working! My strangest oat combo was apple and cheddar- was surprisingly good!

Let 'em stare! Of course, it's the hotness. ^^

But on another note... Those sandwich thins look good! And the pretzels with the oats. I think I'll have to try that. I already have plans to make myself some savory oatmeal, so... It should work out. And I need to try Amazing Grass. Everyone I asked who tried it loves it.
