Hope your Monday went well. I'm kinda bummed because my hip is hurting again. It was absolutely fine until about 10:20--several hours after I'd been on campus this morning. Then it got really irritated, really fast. I'm pretty sure that the extra weight from my backpack was what aggravated it. I had to cancel my fitness class plans for tonight. It stinks cause I already missed the whole weekend for the challenge. Hopefully since I'm resting tonight, it'll heal fast. It's just so disappointing because I thought it was better.
Anyway, backing up to this morning. For breakfast I had a relatively simple bowl of oats--for me, at least!
Oats
1/2 banana
Cinnamon and pumpkin pie spice
1/2 cup canned butternut squash puree
1/3 cup unsweetened applesauce (Whole Foods brand is the best!)
Small spoon of vanilla whey protein powder
Coconut topping
Dark chocolate dreams pb
Ok.... maybe that wasn't so simple! I seem to have a problem making plain bowls of oats. Oh well, these were awesome :D
I had Kinesiology 101, psychology, and my obesity/diabetes class. I was able to come home early today--around 1. Other days I don't get home until 6 to 9. Monday is by far my lightest class day!
Here are some other eats today:
I had this Stonyfield Pumpkin Pie yogurt as a snack at school. It was totally up my alley-- pumpkin + seasonal flavor = a must try!
I did pick up a somewhat non-pumpkiny taste, so I checked the ingredient list and sure enough, it had more carrot juice than pumpkin juice. Yeeeeea, Stonyfield, you can't get that by me. I know my pumpkin like the back of my hand. Or the palm of my hand. You can check it, too. The orange tint don't lie!
All in all, it was tasty yogurt. And it had a nice thickness for non-greek yogurt--none of that thin liquidy stuff! But it should be called Carrot-Pumpkin Pie yogurt ;)
I also had 2 leftover pancakes:
With a few banana slices, whipped cream, and maple syrup. Yea, it was as good as it looked ;)
Huge salad:
With a Dr. Praeger's Italian veggie burger that I actually took the time to broil in the toaster oven. I'm usually WAY too impatient and just toss those suckers in the microwave.
I also had the last of the carton of greek yogurt with some cinnamon and a lil protein powder:
Does that look gross? Sorry if it looks gross. It was good, I swear!
Apple + Orange:
I also had a lil kashi cereal + pretzels + candy corn + dried cherries and apples + almond breeze + a touch of vanilla protein powder. Geez, those are a lot of pluses. I didn't think I had that many ingredients in that teeny bowl (it fits in the palm of your hand for portion-sizing reference)
I guess I can use this extra time to study bones and practice harp. I hope my hip gets better soon. I hate, hate, hate being injured!!
But in an effort to end things on a positive note, here's a picture from my "funny" folder on my computer. I have a whole bunch of funny pictures saved on there for when I'm feeling down. Apparently this one is from failblog.com, which always makes me feel better about myself ;)

I don't know about you, but I think I'd definitely hire her if I ever needed a lawyer. I mean, can you have a better name??
Oh, this one is hilarious, too. I mean, how can you not catch that??

Alright everyone, I hope you had a good Monday. Take care! Do you have any funny pictures or youtube links? If so, please share :D

Favorite stupid news piece ever: http://www.flickr.com/photos/inodeidaragender/2760259659/
It was featured in the Headlines segment on Jay Leno's show a few years ago, and every time I think about it, it makes me laugh.

I need to try the pumpkin yogurt! But from what it sounds like, mixing real pumpkin in greek yogurt is probably better! I loveeee your little mix at the end with the candy corns on top. Haha and those pics are hilarious.
OMG those pics are HILARIOUS!!! If you don't mind I'm going to copy them and e-mail them to a couple co-workers. This week is the end of our fiscal year and everyone is stressed. They could use the cheering up. Share any more that you have!
I love how you put whipped cream on your pancakes. I'm tempted to try it!
Take it easy and heal that hip! So sorry it's bothering you :( Is this an old injury? I think I've heard you mention it before. Get well :(

Hahah at you calling out Stonyfield on the lack of pumpkin! You're the pumpkin QUEEN :)
That Greek yogurt looks DELISH not gross! Maybe to non-food bloggers it would look gross but we know how truly magical that simple bowl can taste. Those pictures are hilarious! I love stuff like that!!
Dear Anne's hip,

HAHA! I LOVE Failblog :D Never fails to amuse! I want to try the pumpkin yogurt...and will as soon as I get to NY! Have you tried the pumpkin spice soy milk? I had it last year and it was good...though after eating so much straight up pumpkin, think other stuff might pale in comparison. Your cereal/candy corn bowl looks great!
Sending hip-dealing vibes your way! Rest, ice, drink tea and eat pancakes until it settles :)
I love that your "simple bowl" of oats is still 10x's more extravagant than most :)
Hope your hip feels better soon! Backpacks are so horribly heavy these days, especially for us commuters!
I haven't seen Stonyfield's Pumpkin yogurt here yet, and I hope it does make it to the groceries here; I really want to try it!
