Veggie Monster

Happy Friday!

So at 8 am, that ginormous grasshopper was STILL on my glass door. I made a few half-hearted attempts to get him off, but he wouldn't budge. But that's just the beginning of the saga. You have to read on ;)

I made a big bowl of apple oats this morning:

The pb spoon is kinda swan-diving into the syrupy oats. I added applesauce and apple butter to the mix. It was delicious, as always.

I went to my chiropractor, who worked on my whacked-out neck. I'm kind of a medical mess ;) Then I came home and was determined to get the effing grasshopper off my door. Just the fact that he was there was totally bugging me (ha, pun so not intended). If this dude didn't move, I was gonna start charging him rent. After much freaking out and MUCH prodding with part of a notecard, Mr. Grasshopper jumped off and onto my plant on the patio. Fine by me! As long as he's not on my damn door. Look close, he's camouflaged:

I'm happy he's off the glass, he's probably glad he's surrounded by greenery, and the plant's probably glad someone's eating the microscopic bugs off it. And so everyone's happy! That's what I'm all about ;)

Then I went to psych 101 and obesity/diabetes class. I wasn't feeling too great, so I decided to heat up some of the veggie soup I made a few weeks ago. I froze 2 containers of it so it would stay fresh, and I'd have a healthy, easy meal on hand.

I also heated up some of the veggies I made last night:

I had a yogurt that I froze, mixed with a little protein powder, too:

I had a cup of that ginger tea with some stevia for my throat:

Before PT I also had another frozen yogurt. Cherry vanilla this time, with extra vanilla protein powder:

It looks plain, but looks can be deceiving ;)

Physical therapy was awesome because something FINALLY worked! We did something called ASTYM which is where they use this scrapey tool to break up muscle tissue and fibers that have grown back the wrong way. It was uncomfortable, but it felt a lot better afterwards--I could actually stand back up on the walking lunges, haha. He said it'll bruise, but that's normal. I'm just glad something is finally working :)

I got back and made a veggie-packed dinner. I saw K had an Amy's bistro burger, so that totally sparked a craving for one. I made a serving size salad with roasted veggies, topped with that bistro:

And also had the rest of the veggies on the side, with spray butter:

Would you believe I've already consumed that WHOLE huge pan of roasted veggies within 24 hours? Haha. Forget Cookie Monster, I'm a Veggie Monster! But didn't they do some bogus PC thing where they were all like, "cookies are a sometimes food"? Yea, that's crap. Cookie Monster eats cookies. They can have some human role model that eats a balanced diet and what-not, but let Cookie Monster eat the damn cookies!

Woah okay, I got side-tracked there. Anyway, the Kinesiology study sesh with my friend was postponed til tomorrow, which is probably for the best since I'm still not feeling all that great. I'm pretty sure it's just an immune response to the H1N1 nasal spray--I've got a sore throat and a bit of a low fever. Still MUCH better than the actual swine flu!

So tonight I'm just gonna chill with my pumpkin tea, read a few blogs, probably waste a lot of time on the internet, and try to get to bed early.

Friday questions are always easy, cause I get to ask:
Q: What are your plans for this weekend?

I've got 2 tests on Monday to study for. One I'm worried about, one I'm not. Then I have to actually wrap my mind around the fact I'm going home on Wednesday--crazy! So this weekend won't be too eventful, but hopefully my trip home will make up for that! What about you?

I have three papers to write, and 2 articles for my school newspaper. I'm worried about all of them except one school article, which is basically just a restaurant review :-)

Pumpkin spice tea? Cool! I wonder where I can find that?

Grasshoppers are super creepy! I don't even like our mini ones in MI so that ginormo one would scare the crap out of me. Glad he's gone!!

Hey, I check out your blog daily and I really want to try the frozen yogurt... I gave it a shot and when I went to get it it was all crystalized. How do you make yours look so smooth and creamy? Do you let it sit out of the freezer for a while to let it thaw out before you eat it? Let me know!! Thx!!
